Principle of action of sodium polyanetole sulfonate (SPS)
Sodium polyanetole sulfonate (SPS) can neutralize lysozyme, inhibit phagocytosis, inactivate some aminoglycoside antibiotics, inhibit some complement tandem, and promote better growth of microorganisms. Because of its enrichment characteristics, it can increase the positive detection rate, so it can be used for enrichment culture. Sodium polyanetole sulfonate (SPS) also has an anticoagulant effect. Its anticoagulant mechanism is to increase the activity of antithrombin ⅲ (at ⅲ) and inhibit the serine protease, thrombin and activating factors necessary in the coagulation process. Application 
It is used as a brightener for acid copper plating, enabling the production of both decorative and functional coatings. It can be combined with typical copper plating formulation components such as nonionic surfactants, polyamines, and other sulfhydryl compounds, as well as with dyes. When used together with DPS and EXP2887, even better results can be achieved.
Anticoagulant: Initially developed as an anticoagulant, it works by enhancing the activity of antithrombin III, inhibiting serine proteases, thrombin, and activated factors in the coagulation process, thereby preventing blood clotting.
Blood culture additive: Used in blood cultures to neutralize trace antibiotics in the blood, inhibit phagocytosis and parts of the complement cascade, improve the positivity rate of blood cultures, and aid in the detection of pathogenic microorganisms.
Stabilizer for colloidal solutions: Used to stabilize colloidal solutions, such as milk and gelatin, preventing sedimentation or stratification, and maintaining product uniformity and stability.
